Children's activities
Junior Church
Our aim in the Junior Church is to welcome and encourage all children.
- Encourage children to have fun learning about Jesus, through a range of play, craft, drama, singing and activities.
- Use a wide range of resources.
- Teach at the individual child's level and age range.
We follow a 'Safe to Grow' policy and so aim to have a minimum of two adults with children at all times. All our leaders and helpers have undergone the appropriate checks. We have two nominated Child Advocates, who are known to the children, and to whom the children can go to talk over any problems or issues they may have.
The Feast
We meet on a Sunday morning at 10.30am. We begin in the service as a whole church, where we sing and pray together and have something appropriate for the children (often helped by 'Mr P.' our resident orang-outang). We aim to:
- Teach the children about God and Jesus and the stories from the Bible.
- Help the children to understand the difference knowing Jesus can make in their lives, and to show them what Jesus has done in the lives of others.
- Help each child to have a personal experience of God.
- Encourage the children to share the love of Jesus with their families and friends.
- Help the children to enjoy being part of the whole church.
- Be able to participate and be integrated into all age services.
Children's Workshops
We run a variety of workshops for junior school children throughout the year. These are advertised as and when they occur.
Our aim is for children to learn about Jesus and the Bible in a fun way and in a relaxed atmosphere.
- There are lots of toys and games for the children to play with.
- The children are told a Bible story and act it out followed by craft associated with the story.
- Refreshments are available for the adults and the children.
