Our link BMS workers are Caroline & Steve Sanderson
Steve is from Northern Ireland, but has also lived in Nottingham, Caroline is from London.
Both are from a legal background. Caroline is a qualified solicitor, previously working for a firm of solicitors. Her experience overseas has included Thailand, Australia, South America, Uganda and Rwanda. Steve has a law degree but is not a qualified lawyer; he previously worked with the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship. He has also been involved in justice and reconciliation work in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. He has also taken a Masters in development.
They are working in Uganda with the Baptist Union of Uganda and the Ugandan Christian Lawyers' Fraternity on access to justice projects. They had been living in Kampala but moved to Gulu in northern Uganda in May 2009.
They have a daughter, Hannah, born (during a brief home assignment in Britain) on 14th September 2007. She has been wonderfully healthy and loving life, full of energy
Both Caroline and Steve love sport. Caroline plays lacrosse and tennis and supports Arsenal. Steve plays football, rugby, enjoys mountaineering and is a fervent Everton fan. Other shared interests include international human rights issues, all things African, films, travel and white-water rafting.
