Fair Trade Fashion Show, March 2009

At the Fair Trade Fashion Show here at Beeston Baptist Church we nearly ran out room!

New-season fairly-traded clothes from the Fair2all shop in Ashby de la Zouch were viewed along the cat walk . There was also a vast assortment of other items for sale on the various stalls along the side of the large room: unique and original jewellery, bags, hats, toys, chocolate and cookies.

Dawn, one of the customers, said:

"The added bonus to the evening was knowing that during this ‘credit crunch' it was actually good to spend! Buying any of these commodities would aid those people all over the developing world involved in making the garments and items by ensuring they continue to have work and are supported in escaping poverty.

"I highly recommend coming along to the next one!"

All the profit from the ticket sales is going to Traidcraft Exchange and to the "Stop AIDS - All Together" project with Tearfund, with the refreshments supplied by the Co-operative Group.
